Paul Hilgers is CEO of Optiver, an Amsterdam-based proprietary trading firm. He was named to the position in December 2013 as the replacement to founder and long-time CEO Johann Kaemingk.[1]

Background

Hilgers joined Optiver in 2007 as director of market structure in the firm's Sydney office. In 2010 he became CEO of the Asia-Pacific region.

Before joining Optiver, Hilgers was director of sales and account management for Fortis Clearing Sydney. Prior to that, he was a managing director for Dutch market making firm Van der Moolen. He began his career in 1992 as a market maker for Amsterdam Options Trader.

Education

Hilgers hods a bachelors degree from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. In 2012 he graduated from the Harvard Business School's general management program.[2]
